PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has asked the affected neighborhoods to complete the feasibility study of the Chashma Lift Canal on the Right Bank (CRBC) and other preconditions by March of next year, qualifying the project of vital importance to the food security of the province.
He said the project’s PC-I will be submitted to the relevant federal forum for approval so that the project can be put in place next year, according to a statement released here on Sunday.
He also asked the relevant departments to complete the land acquisition process for phase II of the Swat highway within the next two to three months in order to ensure the rapid progress of the project.
The Chief Minister ordered officials to finalize the implementation mechanism of the Swat Motorway Phase II project and to take the necessary steps for prompt approval of its funding method by the relevant forum.
He issued these guidelines while chairing a meeting on the advancement of development megaprojects. Senior officials from urban development, revenue, planning and development, communications and works, finance, irrigation and other relevant departments attended the meeting.

Khan said timely completion of communication projects would be the government’s top priority.
He added that new mega-programs were included in the next annual development program in the communication sector.
He called on the relevant authorities to pay particular attention to urban development in tribal districts. He said that providing civic facilities to residents of the amalgamated districts and solving their problems were among the government’s important goals.
The meeting was informed that under a public-private partnership, the execution of 22 different megaprojects was planned, including the Peshawar-DI Khan highway, the acquisition of land for the Dir highway and others. important projects.
It was said that projects of beautification and elevation of different cities, creation of public parks, development of infrastructure, creation of tehsil complexes according to need and construction of roads were proposed to be included. in the next ADP.
The meeting was informed that a separate plan was proposed for urban development in the newly merged neighborhoods.
The deputy commissioners concerned would present a comprehensive plan for this purpose in consultation with the departments concerned, which would be implemented as a matter of priority.
Likewise, the construction and rehabilitation of rural access roads in tribal districts would also be part of the next ADP. In view of the government’s priorities for the accelerated development of the agricultural sector, all the programs foreseen in the agricultural transformation plan were also included in the ADP while a separate program was proposed for the agricultural transformation. in the merged zones.
The authorities were also informed that a project for the development of new tourist sites in the province would be included in the ADP.
Work is in full swing on the establishment of playgrounds in the tribal districts, while a new program for the establishment of new grounds has also been proposed.
Senior officials from the revenue department told the meeting that the hiring of patwaris through ETEA, the initiation of female patwaris and the training of existing patwaris on modern lines were important steps for the department.
The digitization of the mutation was already underway and a new register digitization program would also be launched shortly, they said.
