Steam’s Golden Week sale is live
April 29 marks the start of Golden Week in Japan, a week containing no less than four Japanese public holidays: Shōwa Day on April 29, Constitution Memorial Day on May 3, Greenery Day on May 4, and Children’s Day on May 5. big week all around, and Valve is marking this year’s festivities with a Golden Week sale on Steam, with deals on thousands of games from Japan.

There was a time when PC gaming didn’t have a significant presence in Japan, and Japanese developers and publishers just didn’t bother with that. Naturally, a new sale means new seasonal items in the Steam Points store “that embody the spirit of spring in the northern hemisphere,” including backgrounds, avatars, frames, and a seasonal profile.
The Golden Week Sale runs until 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET on May 6. To be notified in advance of upcoming Steam sales (the ones we know of anyway), be sure to keep an eye on our list.
