eBay Reports Puerto Rico’s Best Selling Items, Ecommerce Remains Strong | Business
Collection cards, plants, auto parts: the variety of products sold by Puerto Ricans in 2020 on eBay shows how the pandemic has boosted the online sales of Puerto Rican entrepreneurs, who have taken advantage of cross-border trade to reach all corners of the planet, expand their sales opportunities and become part of the global economy.
To date, eBay has seen double-digit growth in the percentage of Puerto Rican sellers who represent a wide variety of product categories, some of which did not have a strong presence on the market platform before the pandemic.
“2020 has completely changed the way we live, consume and do business, and the increased sales of these Puerto Rican companies is just one proof of that. They saw eBay as an effective way to expand their customer base by overcoming the challenges of distance, regardless of product or category, ”said Ilya Kretov, Managing Director Global Emerging Markets at eBay.
According to eBay’s sales analysis, Puerto Rico’s top three exported categories in 2020 remained consistent in 2021, with the exception of the third position. Most of these categories include both local and international products and multiple brands in their segments.
