Apex Legends Removes Killing Time, Auto Banners From Apex War Games Rotation Due To Issues
Apex Legends’ The War Games event is facing issues for the second time. Developers removed twice from rotation, including today’s Auto Banners mode, due to “certain issues affecting Mountain peak.“
According to a tweet, Killing Time and Auto Banners will not be participating in the War Games event, although Respawn will save Killing Time for “a later date.” Removing Takeovers leaves only two modes in stock for the event: Ultra Zones and Armor Regen.
The updated schedule leaves Ultra Zones as the sole takeover until the reset on Wednesday, April 21. Armor Regen will take his place until the event ends on the following Tuesday, April 27.
The War Games event was supposed to cover five different takeovers spread over two weeks, but struggled early on. The first mode, Second Chance, encountered a series of progression issues that made challenges and experience gains disappear and prevented players from progressing through the Battle Pass. The developers changed it to Armor Regen mode on the same day.
Ultra Zones had a clear cut in map rotation until earlier today, when it gave way to the takeover of automatic banners. Players have reported a slew of issues, especially with servers, and Respawn has removed automatic banners and its successor, Killing Time. Both spin modes until the end of the event are tried and true, and both have had pretty stable launches.
Players looking forward to Killing Time might see it at an upcoming event. Respawn is reportedly recording the event “for a later date,” although the company has yet to specify a clear timeline.
