Apex Legends presents Valkyrie, pilot of Titan
The next season of Apex Legends is reminiscent of Respawn’s Titanfall roots, starting with the daughter of one of the evil mercenaries from the second game.
The new Stories From The Outlands trailer puts the Kuben Blisk series mascot back in the spotlight and introduces us to Kairi “Valkyrie” Imahara. Titanfall 2 gamers will likely recognize her old man as Viper, the boss of that game’s brilliant airship level, and the short film (titled “Northstar” after her Titan class) shows us’ Kyrie taking a ride in the robot. his father.
Titanfall 2 frontman Jack Cooper could ultimately be responsible for Viper’s death, but Valkyrie blames Blisk squarely. But a heated conversation at gunpoint convinces her to settle for murdering her drink, snatching her an entry into the Apex games.
The short doesn’t give us much of an idea of Valkyrie’s charge, but it does come close to hacking his old man’s Northstar – severing his limbs and turning the towering old robot into what looks like a missile-carrying drone. . Previous leaks suggested that Blisk himself would be a new hero, able to wallrun and summon an auto-titan during a brief period of area denial.
The Season 9: Legacy page also shows her nibbling, using the dismembered robot as a heavily armed jetpack. Northstar’s own ultimate let him fly, taking out enemies from afar, so maybe we’ll see some of that trickle down into Valkyrie’s kit. Datamin capacities suggest that she will be able to passively hover, with an ultimate that allows her and her team to shoot across the sky to redeploy on the map, while her tactic is a cluster missile that detonates multiple times at impact.
Season 9 also introduces an arc in Apex Legends, as Olympus is about to be invaded by a new evolution of the “Infested” map. Expect more details as the season arrives on May 4.
